Experience a Vintage Christmas at Bankfoot House
Fresh from performing “The Radioplay Hour: Little Women” at Bankfoot House, as part of the Anywhere Festival, in May this year, The Drama Merchant returns to Bankfoot House by popular demand with “The Radioplay Hour: A Christmas Carol”.
But before this Charles Dickens holiday classic comes to life as a “live” 1940s radio broadcast complete with vintage commercials, costumes, props, a little audience participation and the magic of live sound effects; we invite you to experience what Christmas would have been like at Bankfoot House with cast of “The Radioplay Hour: A Christmas Carol ”.
Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct will be open from 4pm on Friday 13th December 2019 with festive fun for all:
* Take a wander through the grounds of Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct and view the outbuildings and displays.
* Explore the interactive Sunshine Coast Discovery Van, and sit back under a tree with a refreshment; food and ice cream vans available.
* ‘Christmas at Bankfoot House’ Exhibition will be on display in the Mary Grigor Centre, see original family objects such as the Bankfoot House Christmas Card Collection with ornate cards dating as early as 1891 and family photographs. Keep an eye out you might even spy the ‘Good Samaritans’ . . .
